Winter Prep Notice

Dear Member,

Forecasts are telling us that we could have the possibility of rain next Monday and Tuesday as well as a measureable snowfall within the next couple of weeks.  With extended forecasts appearing to be a bit bleak we need to take advantage of the good days as we have them.  Our winter fungicide protection is a necessity to get put down to protect the turf so we are taking advantage of a clear but cold day today to get the greens, and tees sprayed.  Even though we are spraying greens today we will still leave the pins in them over the weekend, but after Sunday all pins will be moved to temporary locations in the approaches for the remainder of the season and throughout the winter.  Early next week we will be carrying out a few other winter prep techniques such as a final layer of topdressing on the greens and tees and then put the greens covers into place.  Fairway and approaches will also be sprayed at the beginning of next week.
It has been a long and tough season.  Looking back over our records we were out on the golf course on March 10th, it was 56 degrees and we were beginning our cleanup.  March 16th we were beginning to mow tees, approaches, and fairways.  Now here we are 8 months and a few days after and we're beginning to wrap things up.

Best Regards,
Justin
