Go Bears!!!!!!

So the most important game in Chicago sports history will be played this Sunday.  Bears vs Packers for the NFC Championship!!!  I guess this will be the most exciting game until the Cubs make it back to the world series.

Anyway, enough with the sports.  A mix of precipitation fell later yesterday and throughout the evening but a majority of it was a wet snow.  Plowing of the clubhouse and salt spreading was the immediate task this morning to protect employees and visitors to the club throughout the day.  I drove through the course this morning to inspect some of the greens where we see water accumulation and ice build up but everything is looking to be good.  The back right area on 1 green had a bit of water accumulation but nothing to serious as we haven't had any ice accumulation so far this winter.  Talking with Moe this morning we are seeing that we may be getting closer to the clear.  If ice accumulates poa can survive around 30 days as bentgrass can survive 60.  Soon we will enter into February where we have 28 days for the month and then to March where we should see more increasing temps allowing for thaws.  We continue to monitor the course and address any issues if needed.
