Course Review

These are just a few photos I took today as we went through the golf course.  Everything again is looking good.  As spring nears we will have some cleanup to do as branches have fallen out of the trees and just our normal Willow tree mess.

Pond on 10/18 has come out of its banks.  A week ago we did our annual Sonar application to the pond on 10/18.  Sonar is a herbicide that is applied to lakes to help reduce the amount of weeds that grow in them.  The outflow pipe for this lake was closed as the sonar has to be able to sit in the water for sometime other wise it would be a waist of product and not do it's job.  With a few warmer days making for added snow melt the pond has risen and has moved out across 10 fairway.  We had to open the outflow today cause that sonar has the potential for harming the grass on the fairway, which I hope has not happened.

This Maple is located on the right side of 7 fairway.  This tree has severe Stem Girdling Roots and these roots are killing the tree.  As you can see in the photo there is a great amount of dead wood at the top of this tree.

Picture of the tree with SGR on 7 fairway.

This is just a photo of pruning that was done to the left side of 7 fairway.  Hopefully this will create a bit more sunlight in this area and make it easier for turfgrass to grow.
