Very Productive Day!

These are the days I dream about!  With a limited amount of people on the golf course, no rain, and a full crew a lot can be accomplished.  As of today we are back to full staff.  Our great day started off with some donuts and a morning meeting to get everyone on the same page with the 2012 season.  Everyone is excited to be back and looking forward to creating a top notch golf course for Briarwood's members. 

Cultural practices were our main focus today as the past weather has put us at a stand still.  Along with those practices we started attacking the rough along with a few other minor jobs.  Verticutting and aerification were our major tasks today.  Today we verticut greens and approaches as well as topdressed them.  Aerification also took place throughout the approaches.  All these tasks helps make the soil profile suitable for turfgrass growth to the standards we desire.  Removal of thatch and propagation of new plants is a few of the very positive results from these tasks.  Attached below are a group of pictures and video on todays tasks:
