Salt Issues

USGA recently released an article about salt and its affect on golf courses.  People fail to realize how important irrigation water is, the real challenge though is when that irrigation water isn't good.  Through tests of our irrigation source we have found our water to be high in salinity as well as bicarbonates.  These two elements affect turf in numerous ways by changing soil structure and making it difficult for the plant to take in nutrients as well as other important things.  This article is very detailed in the complications bad irrigation water can cause and how to try and remedy.
