If you were to look around the course today you'd never guess that we had 6" of snow this past Friday. The mild trend continues although not numerous days in a row anymore but an intermittent one from time to time. These most recent mild conditions were accompanied by rain and have accelerated the snow melt and have made quite a mess throughout the golf course. Standing water is the common occurrence throughout the course now. Just recently a few of the guys went out to clean some drainage paths on greens so that as the snow melted and flowing water accumulated it was able to drain off the surface. This is a task we've been doing since the severe ice damage a few seasons ago, less worry is there since we fumigated and no Poa is in existence. Anyway, just wanted to bring you up to date with how things are out here at BCC. More snow is predicted in the forecast but also some warmer temps to the end of the week. We'll continue to monitor areas with water accumulation and freeze/thaw cycles to try and protect our turf as much as we can. Below are some photos taken from this morning:
