The Anxious Itch

This past weekend there was a feeling of spring in the air.  Temperatures eclipsed the 40 degree mark with abundant sunshine, giving us that Anxious Itch.  As soon as we feel a few spring days we get excited; excited about getting out on the golf course and getting things ready for play.  Unfortunately, we have a ways to go.

February was a harsh month for us this past winter.  Cold temperatures and upwards to 2 feet of snow accumulated, and is still evident throughout the golf course.  Some has melted over the last few days with more expected through the rest of the week.  I'm sure we will have a mess on our hands as the snow melts, limiting our access to the golf course and duties we can carry out.  In due time though, we'll be full steam ahead getting things ready to open when we can.  As you can see from the photo included, we still have a lot of snow throughout the golf course.  As of now only 2 greens have turf visible, #5 and #11.  We will keep you up to date as we progress with spring.

As of now all winter activities are prohibited on the golf course.  Snow is inconsistent as it melts and we want to prevent any damage that may occur from people skiing or snowshoeing over surfaces with inadequate snow cover.
