Up and at 'em!
Today was a day of no frost, enabling us to get outside right away. Thankfully too as today is only an 8 hour work day. Monday's and Tuesday's we've been working till 5pm since the course is closed for play and that enables us to get a lot accomplished and if frost in the morning still a good work day. Anyway, greens deep tining finished up yesterday and the crew did a tremendous job. Today we work towards getting things closer to being put to bed but also a few more cultural tasks. Deep tining is taking place today on all the "old" tee boxes, solid tines are being used to minimize labor needed for the task. We continue to montior the weather so we can time our winter fungicide applications. Once the applications are made on the greens they will be closed for the season. Looking at the extended forcast Sunday and Monday are still to be moderate so as of now we are gonna hold off till Monday to spray, but if something changes with that forcast tomorrow spraying could be done here on Thursday or Friday weather permitting. This is such an important spray application as if we don't get it down before the snow we will be out there shoveling things off to spray.
