Frigid and Frosty!

Today is a very frigid morning!  Currently we sit at 18 degrees and the frost is glistening across the golf course.  I'm wondering if this is the calm before the storm?  Forecast shows that we'll receive our first measurable snow fall starting tonight and continuing through tomorrow.  As for totals they are unsure, they are believing Saturday the winds will pick up off the lake and add some lake effect snow to the equation.  We're already preparing by getting the spreads ready for salt and getting the plow attached to the truck.  We have a few things to wrap up though today, mainly the drainage line from 1 green.  Some cleanup is needing done and laying the sod back into place and we're finished.

Today is the last day for our seasonal staff.  From today on we'll have myself, Moe, and 4 hourly staff members to take care of all winter tasks.  Our guys are looking forward to some time off to relax and spend with family and this is the perfect time of year for it!  Holiday seasons are among us and we are all so very thankful to have the understanding family and friends that we do.  The summer can be pretty tough and we sometimes lose touch with some important people as much time is spent here at the golf course.

I myself leave tomorrow morning to go on a week vacation/honeymoon with my wife.  We're headed to Costa Rica, I've never been and I'm looking very forward to it!  Looks like we're leaving just in time too, with the measurable snow on the way and temps in the single digits next week.  With that being said, this page will be quiet for the next week but we'll pick back up when I return.
