USGA recently released their latest "USGA Record". This is the USGA's publication regarding golf course maintenance. I always enjoy reading the magazine cause the articles they have are always up to date with what Superintendents and golf courses are dealing with at the time. They include vast amounts of research along with other articles that are relative to a certain topic, along with regional focus.
This edition includes an article from the Northeast agronomist discussing the problems of Poa Annua and wither conditions. Not a long article but short and to the point. With the recent decision to regrass our greens we will reduce the chances for winter injury on our greens substantially as bentgrass can tolerate very harsh conditions. Our ability to have the confidence of good greens when spring comes will greatly increase as well cause we will no longer be at the mercy of Mother Nature. Here is the link to the article:
