Looks as though weather is going to start getting back on track. Last week we received just under an inch of rain making things a bit wet. A wet course limited our tasks that we could get done although didn't completely inhibit what we could do. Cleanup was a major task last week as we continued to rake up debris throughout the golf course and edge bunkers, even though today is a bit chilly we'll be back out on the course continuing these tasks. Long range forecast look to be slightly warming up in the next few weeks. The promising dates to look to are the end of the first full week in April. I tentatively see us being able to open the course on Friday, April 8th. Again, I stress tentatively! I'm sure the weather forecast will change between now and April 8th, if able we will get the course opened prior to that date or if the weather forecast goes south we will anticipate another date to open.
Right now with the cooler temps we've had there has been no stimulation for root growth or even turf growth. Things have slightly greened up but until we get soil temps to rise any damage created will take some time to heal. I know we're anxious to get out there but lets protect our course at the same time. I'll keep everyone posted as we move through these next few weeks and approach a date where we can get BCC opened for play!
