Well we're out pumping away! This morning we've done nothing but focus on getting bunkers back in shape by pumping water out, mowing the banks, and pushing sand back up on the sides. Guys are moving along efficiently, they've been able to get through the front nine with mowing and pushing sand back up in the bunkers that weren't full of water. Pumping of the bunkers is just about done on the front nine. The crew pushing up sand will go through all 18 holes addressing the bunkers with no water in them and when finished they will start working back through addressing the ones that were pumped clean. This gives the bunkers a little bit of time to dry before working them.
Course is opening at 10am so we are now out mowing greens. Since it has been a few days since we've been able to mow we are double cutting. Double cutting is basically mowing the greens in two different directions. After the greens are cut we will then roll them to help smooth them out slightly as well as help pick up a bit of speed.
Depending on what gets done today will help develop our weekend schedule. Lots of mowing still needs done but I don't see it happening today. If we are able to mow anything today it would possibly be tees and approaches. Fairways will probably be done sometime over the weekend if no more rain develops, which they are talking of possibilities tomorrow and Sunday.
We will keep you posted via emails and this blog as things progress and if anything develops.
