Repaired

Over the weekend a little mishap took place on the twelfth green.  In the midst of rolling the fuel line for the machine came off, dribbling so gasoline on the green and approach.  Unfortunately, gasoline kills turf and that turf is dead.

Over time we would probably see bentgrass take over the bare strip but to me that is unacceptable, especially on the green.  Today we took action and have repaired the green as well as collar area.
Sod removed from the green.

Took a game of musical sod to do so as we don't have a nursery due to the new Paddle Facility being built on it.  We ended up harvesting sod from the upper chipping green to be used on twelve then place the sod from 12 back to the chipping green where it can recover.  Collars were fixed by swapping sod from the beginning of the approach.  I believe the approaches will heal fast as turf is mowed slightly higher, not making it as noticeable.  We will monitor this area and if need be we'll replace.

Sod replaced on the green.  We will keep sod water so it can root in and flourish.  Keeping traffic to a minimum in this area will be beneficial as well.

We always hate when things like this happen but it's a risk with operating machinery.  Thankfully our skilled operator notice the issue and only made on pass vs making multiple passes.
