Temperate

As another week ends and the weekend begins I can only be excited and very happy with the condition of the golf course.  Weather has been very cooperative allowing us to condition the golf course through special practices.  

This week we've focused on a few cultural aspects like grooming and topdressing.  Greens this week have been mowed with brush attachments in the down position to stand up turf and increase quality of cut.  Approaches were topdressed on Monday to help smooth them as well as firm up for Championship weekend.  Lastly, groomers were set more aggressive on fairway mowers to start removing thatch but also create a more upright turfgrass plant giving better lies.  
Photos are of guys grooming the 1st hole fairway and Kaylor checking out the result.  

Work will continue through August if weather permits.  These grooming practices will help increase our bentgrass populations making for better playing surfaces with more durable turf.
