Our flagstone project has begun at the Putting Green. Since the redesign of the patio and putting green we constantly seen congestion from parked and moving carts by the putting green. A large part of this was the result of inadequate parking space for carts, especially on our busy Saturday and Sunday mornings. Last fall we discussed and made the decision to address the issue. Utilizing some retaining steppers and flagstone; we are creating a large area for parking carts all along the putting green. This should help relieve a lot of congestion and allow carts to go to and from the cart barn freely. While doing the excavation we seized the opportunity to added substantial drainage. During rain events a large amount of water running away from the clubhouse would flow freely onto the putting green. Relieving the runoff will really benefit the putting green from standing water.
By the end of the week we will have all the drainage complete, stepper retaining wall, and sod replaced along the front side. Next week we will lay the gravel base and follow with the flagstone. Once the flagstone is laid all cracks will be filled with seeding mix and seeded with fescue grass. Grass in the joints will give a great look and lock stones in place.
