BALLMARKS, BALLMARKS, BALLMARKS!!!!

I don't think I'll ever understand how challenging it is to fix a ballmark.  I started playing golf when I was 8; one of the first things that was hammered into my golf etiquette was repairing ballmarks.  What has changed with the current golfing community?

This past weekend was our opening for 2017.  There were a minimal amount of rounds; it was great to see people out on the course.  The disappointing part of the opening weekend was seeing the numerous unrepaired ballmarks the day after.  I unfortunately counted 23 UNREPAIRED ballmarks on #9 green alone!  This is unacceptable!  Included here is a video showing each ballmark:

We have to get better as a team at this!  Please take it upon yourself to fix a ballmark; even if you can't find yours please fix 1 even 2 if your are feeling ambitious.  If we don't get a handle on this now imagine how our greens will be after 75-100 rounds a day during the week and 150+ on weekends?  Please take it to heart to keep our golf course in the best conditions possible!  Just a few facts to add:

The Importance of Repairing Ball Marks

  • A fresh ball mark repaired by a player takes only five seconds.
  • A freshly repaired ball mark completely heals in 24 hours.
  • A fresh ball mark left unrepaired for only one hour requires 15 days time
    for satisfactory healing.
