Floating

The rain continues to fall here at Briarwood.  So far we've received 1.1" of rain over night.  Adding that with the rain we received yesterday morning it brings our total to 2.4" over the last 19 hours and 3.4" since Sunday night.  Looking at the radar the rain will continue throughout the morning so that total will only rise.  A great deal of work lies ahead for us as the long holiday weekend is right around the corner.  Our goal is to always produce the best conditions possible and we won't lose sight of that after this rain.  I hope that today we get a clearing so we can get out on the course and start to reclaim what is ours.  The crew is here now working on some odds and ends jobs as well as cleaning equipment in the mean time.  Tomorrow I anticipate a sun up to sun down work day trying to get all the bunkers pumped free of water and sand pushed back up against the edges.  I don't anticipate being able to do any sort of mowing until maybe Sunday morning if we get some dry weather soon.  We'll take everything in stride and do what we can to make the weekend a pleasurable one on the course.

Yesterday I was able to get around the course in the early afternoon to assess what lied ahead.  I was happy to see that the water had gone down slightly but we still had a great deal around.  I've yet to get out on the course this morning but when that opportunity comes I'll document what is going on and post it here.  Attached below are some photos from yesterday afternoon.

This is the XGD exit pipe on 15 green, look at the flow of water coming out.  One interesting thing I noticed this morning when I did a quick drive around the clubhouse to see how 1, 9, 10, and 18 looked was that there was standing water on the putting green but not 9 or 18.  Another moment where XGD is a proven addition to our greens.
