Day After

It's been a busy week at BCC.  Yesterday as well as Tuesday played host to guest day events for the Ladies and Men.  Each day saw a large amount of traffic, throw in the 90+ degree temperatures we've had and its a handful!  Golf course has been handling things well.  Previous post talked about plant health, the work we've done not only this season but the previous season helps build health to battle tough, stressful periods.
Today we are taking a break with the course.  No mowing will take place, instead we are only mowing greens, raking bunkers, changing course setup, and working on odds and ends stuff.  Nice to have a day like this.
We continue to monitor our moisture conditions to keep turf viable but not induce disease.
A break in the heat is about 30 hours away.  Forecasts show a cool front moving into the area later tomorrow with chances of showers, they will be welcomed.  We'll take advantage of the cooler weather to get moisture levels up in areas that need it.  One challenge we've faced is inadequate irrigation coverage.
Without running irrigation in so long we never could see where issues were, we've found a few now as we've been water and some sprinklers aren't working correctly.
Stay cool out there!!!
